Gibson 1935 L-C "Century Of Progress" Very good plus condition - An early example of the Century model with the small sunburst on the top. These were made for the Century Of Progress exhibition in Chicago in 1933 and was produced until 1939. Flashy pearloid headstock and fingerboard, set this model apart. The inlays were set in Brazilian Rosewood and look very close to the "Nick Lucas" model. Spruce top, Maple back & sides, single bound body, Brazilian Rosewood bridge, "Firestripe" pickguard, thru saddle, Pearl truss rod cover and original Grover 3 on a plate tuners with plastic buttons. The finish is all intact with a lot of checking and some "swirling" on the back but amazingly there are no cracks anywhere. The sound is bright and loud with that wonderful old Gibson tone. Recent neck set along with the first 5 frets replaced. A killer finger style guitar but with a pick is roars with strumming or flatpicking. These are hard to find but in this condition it is even harder. This is one fun playing instrument. Comes with its original rough purple lined hard case.
