Thompson OM-BRA Orchestra Model Brazilian New - We are honored to be the exclusive dealer, and present to you, handmade guitars by Preston Thompson of Sisters Oregon. Thompson instruments are made with the highest level in materials and impeccable workmanship. All of his guitars are built and based on the "Golden Era" of guitar legends. The fit & finish takes a back seat to no one using proven nitrocellulose lacquer as in those good old 30's & 40's. This first guitar received is this very special "sunken" Brazilian Rosewood OM that was cut in 1936, which takes on the meaning of real "old growth." Look at the color and straight lines as well as dark lines of this most prized and legendary tone wood. The Master grade Adirondack top is rich & creamy with tight grain in the middle that widens towards the bouts, Adirondack braces, no tongue brace, Herringbone top trim, 1 3/4'' nut width, diamond & squares inlay into Ebony fingerboard, 2 5/16'' string spacing at the traditional Ebony bridge, thru saddle, traditional Tortoise grain pickguard, Waverly "Butterbean" tuners, old style squared headstock, modified "V" profile Mahogany neck and solid bridge pins. The first thing noticed when engaged is the power and instant response, that fat dry delivery, outstanding sustain, the outrageous balance and super clarity with no frayed edges. This is not Preston Thompson's first rodeo as he has been building for several years at a limited scale, but now has geared up to build on a regular basis and has chosen us to represent his fine full line. Guitars of this caliber are a real find and we are pleased to offer these in our shop. Priced with deluxe hard case.
